Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia – During the International Greentech & Eco Products Exhibition and Conference Malaysia (IGEM), Longmax Technology announced the official launch of its solar combiner box manufacturing base in Penang. As the company’s first manufacturing facility outside China, the fully operational base marks a key step forward in Longmax Technology’s global strategy, and stands as an important milestone for deepened green energy cooperation between China and Malaysia. The Deputy Minister of Energy Transition and Water Transformation of Malaysia joined the ceremony to mark this strategic occasion.

Global Supply Chain Expansion Strengthens Local Operations

The launch of the Malaysia base brings Longmax Technology’s "global footprint, local operation" strategy into substantive implementation. Yang Yuhui, General Manager of Longmax Technology, stated at the launch ceremony: “We are not only extending our advanced manufacturing capabilities to Malaysia, but also embedding our R&D, quality management and service systems deep into the local market to build a competitive regional green energy industrial chain.”

The base will support local production of core products including solar combiner boxes and optimize the local supply chain, to effectively improve cross border operational efficiency. It will also leverage Malaysia’s strategic position as an ASEAN hub to efficiently serve Southeast Asia and broader global markets.

Driving Regional Energy Transition for a Sustainable Future

In recent years, the Malaysian government has actively advanced its energy structure transition. The National Energy Transition Roadmap (NETR) sets clear staged targets: 7GW of installed solar capacity by 2030, 27GW by 2040, and 57GW by 2050.

Against this backdrop, Longmax Technology selected Malaysia as the home of its first overseas manufacturing base, rooted in strong confidence in the country’s renewable energy growth potential and supportive policy framework. Located in Penang, the base will directly support the 1GW hybrid solar power plant, a flagship project under the NETR framework, by providing key equipment.

This initiative will significantly lift Malaysia’s local manufacturing capacity for clean energy equipment, and help reduce reliance on imports of core components. The project has also created a large number of skilled professional roles locally, delivering balanced economic, social and environmental benefits.
